Module #5: I watched empathy videos and read articles to become aware of the Universal Design and accessibility and how they relate to online education. The videos portrayed different learning styles, physical constraints, cultural, age, and socioeconomic differences and how they impact e-learning. We were to complete the editing and posting of a closed-captioned video. Closed-captioned videos have been proven to help all students learn. Closed-captioned videos help students with hearing issues, learning disabilities, and English language learners the most. The videos that have been closed captioned by the generators need to be edited because the wording is not accurate.

My course instructor, Susan Manning, awarded me two badges during the course. The UDL badge was for working through a series of instructional activities and appy the information through design and reflection.

My course instructor, Susan Manning, also awarded me a Deep Thinker badge for exceeding expectations on the rubric in terms of scholarship, quality of thinking, independent thinking and probing questions.

I will be able to award my students with badges through Credly.
