Dr. Kay Lehmann was the instructor for Collaborative Communities and my co-instructor when I taught the course during the eLearning Practicum. After doing the icebreaker activity, I read and discussed social constructivism and adult learning theory with my cohort, and my partner, Brandy Brockman, and I created a Trello tip sheet. I made a Google Hangout tip sheet as well. We all had a turn at being a “practice facilitator.” We explored Web 2.0 communication tools and completed a Community Matrix. I read about the 70 / 30 rule. 70% of the instructors’ time and work is done in the first week preparing for the course. 30% spent during the remainder of the course. I wrote an introduction and a welcome e-mail for my practice course and an EASyR lesson in which I compared the differences between an online and a face-to-face course.
