Introduction to My Fictitious Course

Hello, I’m Judith Peterson, your online line instructor for Online Image Technology. I’m sure you’ve heard the phrase, A picture is worth a thousand words. That cliché is most true in the business and art world.  This course explores visual vocabulary by utilizing photography and avatars. You’ll create an online flipbook in 1stFlip Flipbook Creator Pro. Additionally, you’ll create a personal avatar in Crazy Talk, that presents the online flipbook. You will embed both flipbook and avatar projects in an e-portfolio to showcase and publish the work. You will also create Photoshop elements to embellish the portfolio. You will collaborate with peers and online instructor to examine expressive techniques and processes. Employers today are looking for individuals with technical and collaborative skills; and the portfolio is a popular tool used to showcase those skills. The Internet provides a conduit for collaborating with individuals with like minds around the world. Learning how to take expressive photographs, utilizes visual vocabulary that clarifies your message; no matter what language your audience speaks.  I’m sure you’ll have fun creating your own expressive portfolio, flipbook, and avatar. I’m looking forward to meeting you and excited to see what everyone will create!

What is This?

 

Trying out Vimeo was an optional class assignment. This unedited iMovie uses my Mac Book Pro's iSight and built-in microphone. I didn't use a three-point lighting system. I wrote a script that I read from my monitor.

 

During our asynchronous class discussions, we discussed how a photograph or a video of the instructor at the start of the course helps some individuals new to the online environment feel less apprehension. Also, mixing up how the material is delivered helps to make the course more interesting. We experienced and created our courses' screencasts, tip sheets, audio, synchronous meetings, and videos. This is an introduction to the fictitious course I made for my coursework.
